Client brief

The couple were looking to create four bathrooms in their newbuild home, including a private en-suite, a guest cloakroom, and two near-identical guest shower rooms. Their vision was to create a sleek, contemporary aesthetic by incorporating minimalist and nature-inspired elements that complemented the rest of their home. Prioritising high-quality materials and fittings, they wanted to achieve a refined yet functional design.

Challenges

The process took longer than anticipated due to pandemic-related disruptions and cost increases throughout the supply chain. However, we were able to carefully translate the couple’s initial vision onto the revised plans, ensuring their desires were fully realised despite the challenges.

With the change of plans, the two guest shower rooms - which were originally planned to be identical - ended up slightly different in size. To accommodate this, we carefully adjusted the product selections, tailoring each space to achieve a harmonious and cohesive look.

Design process

The clients were a pleasure to work with - highly specific in their requirements yet open-minded in exploring our creative solutions. Their vision for the home embraced effortless indoor-outdoor living, with natural light and the surrounding greenery found throughout.

With a former geologist as one of the clients, material selection was paramount. They were passionate about achieving a natural aesthetic, so it was important that every stone-effect tile was geologically accurate to ensure every space felt authentic.

The private en-suite, as well as the additional upstairs bathroom, include striking jungle-inspired tiled walls - carefully chosen to further bring the outside in. In keeping with this organic theme, the exterior of the freestanding bath was finished in a deep shade of green, personally selected by the clients.

Final solution

The result is a selection of bathrooms, each with their own personality while harmoniously blending nature with modern luxury - reflecting the clients' close attention to detail and overarching vision.

The private en-suite is the true standout, with its skylight creating the sensation of bathing under the open sky. The eye-catching green bath and jungle-inspired wall tiles frame the space beautifully, seamlessly complementing the woodland that surrounds the home.

“This was a fantastic collaboration between our expertise and our client’s unique creative vision - and the results speak for themselves. The clients had a strong connection to nature and a clear idea of what they wanted, which really comes through in the finished designs. Each room has its own character, but together they fit harmoniously into the home.”
