Influenced by their previous rented property’s kitchen, a breakfast bar was a priority for the couple, who wanted to include informal dining space in the design for relaxed family breakfasts and coffee with friends. The couple were eager to include a large island following their previous experience – “we found that family and friends would stand around it and chat with us while we were preparing meals, which meant that whoever was in the kitchen never felt left out. When it came to designing our kitchen, we knew we had to have one”
The L-shaped room offers areas for dining and relaxing, with the large kitchen island at its heart. For Fiona and our client, creating beautiful features and details was a crucial part of the design and this is evident in the addition of curved walls, the bespoke conical Corian breakfast bar leg and the way the moulded ceiling canopy reflects the shape of the island below it.
