Keeping it in the family, following his Dad Andys retirement this year, Darren has stepped in to the Managing Director role here at Laings.
Having started work for the company at the age of 13, helping out in the stores on Saturdays and during school holidays, he then moved in to a plumbing apprenticeship aged 16. Darren first turned his hand to plumbing work during work experience in 1993. Laings had been awarded the contract for Aberdeen Football Clubs new Richard Donald stand and it was from there that Darren decided a career in plumbing was for him. His experience since then has seen him develop knowledge and expertise across all parts of the business.
“With 31 years of service and looking back on my time here, there are far too many proud moments to mention - however a few that stand out would be every hotel project that we have delivered across Scotland, watching our commercial team grow from strength to strength over the last 10 years, building great relationships with our contracts customers and of course the six National KBB awards that we have won over the past five years”
“As a company, I look forward to seeing the business continue to grow and will continuously aim to improve our service that we provide to our customers”
